Overdue Seoul post

Assalamualaikum ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s Monday and to be honest, I’m still recovering from my Monday blues. Having Monday blues is the worst thing. But I have trained myself to take it slow and just be present in the moment by telling myself the mantra “this will pass” “this will pass” while waiting the clock to hit 5:30 pm. Or in my case here in Japan, “slightly” past 5:30pm.

Earlier this month, I took paid leave to join my friends in their short vacation in Korea. We were there for 3 days. I went separately because I sort of decided last minute on joining the trip. I’ve wanted to write a blog post on this but I was too excited to start my Youtube channel. Yes, I finally started a Youtube channel where I put my personal videos so I can watch them when I leave Japan one day… so I focused on editing videos instead of my blog (i’m sorry it won”t happen again)(yeah right…)

It was just a fun, short vacation in Seoul and Nami Island. I went there for two things. Food and cosmetics. Surprisingly, I didn’t spend that much on cosmetics as I find myself not wearing much makeup lately. In Myeongdong, the infamous shopping street aka skincare heaven, I only grab a few skincare product and a lipstick. But boy, the free testers are the real deal! I had planned to buy a foundation in Korea as my previous one was alreade nearing the expiry date but sadly they don’t produce the right shade for tanned/olive skin. Honestly, I was quite disappointed because considering how gigantic their cosmetic industry is, surely it wouldn’t be a big problem to create a few shades for tanned people right? ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

However I got a new foundation here in Japan so problem solved!

Here are some pictures from the trip ๐Ÿ™‚

Day One: Cafe hunting and quick Myeongdong tour

Japan: Tsukiji Fish Market

“If you can dream it, you can do it” -Walt Disney

Hi reader!ย โ™ฅ I know it hasn’t been too long since I updated my blog but I’m just excitedย  to share what I did today. So I’ve been wanting to go to Tsukiji Market for a while, I think from last year but I haven’t got the chance to. Finally I went there today! Trust me, I LOVE food hunting. If you need a food hunting person, I’m THAT person. Well of course the guilt comes after but…can puasa kan hehehehe

In case you didn’t know, Tsukiji Market (็ฏ‰ๅœฐๅธ‚ๅ ด, Tsukiji Shijล) is a largeย wholesale marketย for fish, fruits and vegetables in centralย Tokyo. It is the most famous of over ten wholesale markets that handle the distribution of food and flowers in Tokyo. Tsukiji Market is best known as one of the world’s largest fish markets, handling over 2,000 tons of marine products per day.ย (excerpt from thisย website) In short words, Tsukiji is seafood heaven, fresh off the boats, all ready to dive in back into your tummy. (yaas) And take your money away (nooo)

We arrived around 9:15am by train, it took around 40 mins from my place. Personally I think it would be better to go early because it started to get real crowded around 9:45 with tourists and locals. As soon as we arrived we lined up for fresh grilled oyster, what a day starter terus ngap tiram. Then we continued walking along the alleys and tried out many food. Banyak gila k makan but no regrets ๐Ÿ˜‰ Here are some of the pics sis penat nak type korang rajin baca ke tak ni wakakaka

fresh tuna head!

Interesting part: I ate sea urchin aka landak laut! I thought it would be chewy like squid but boy I was wrong. It actually has the texture like pudding but with sea taste, weird but it’s okay la not bad.

No wonder this is a tourist hot spot, the market provides super fresh and fast service. People just stand everywhere and walking while eating, something you actually rarely see in Japan. My budget was out because I just ate whatever that looks good and edible (muslim wise) It’s also a plus point if you bring any friend so you can share as some of the portion are quite a handful.
